What is Interlibrary Loan?

Interlibrary Loan, or ILL for short, is a program used by most libraries (academic and public) to share both books and articles so that everyone has the ability to access content when it cannot be provided by Maria College Library.

 How do I request a book or article?

 How long should it take for my request to arrive?

Book requests can take anywhere between 1-2 weeks depending on availability.

Article requests can take anywhere between 1-7 days. 

 How long can I have a book checked out?

Typically most lending institutions lend out books for one month. Some lending institutions may have longer lending periods. If you need your interlibrary loan book longer please request to renew the item. 

 Can I renew my interlibrary loan book?

Yes, you can renew your interlibrary loan book if it is allowed by the participating institution, and it does not have a request at the participating institution for the item.
